Peaceful or Contentious? How to Promote Interreligious Peace in Africa

We are pleased to share with you the results of our recent research efforts, unveiled in this article titled "Peaceful or Contentious? How to Promote Interreligious Peace in Africa".

This in-depth study explores methods for encouraging peaceful coexistence among different religious communities in Africa. It underscores the importance of close social ties, religious tolerance, strengthening legal frameworks, law enforcement, reducing socio-economic disparities, as well as the involvement of religious leaders and civil society in countering violent religious extremism.

This work is the result of a fruitful collaboration between the German Institute for Global and Area Studies (GIGA), represented by Lisa Hoffmann and Julia Kobrich, and the Center for Research and Opinion Polls (CROP), represented by Hervé Akinocho.

We express our gratitude for this enriching collaboration that has deepened our understanding of the challenges and opportunities for interreligious peace in Africa.
